We are excited to bring back this academy after last Summers response.  The Striker academy will work in conjunction with Joe Longeneckers Goalkeeper program to have the ability to finish each session combining the two groups.  This will be extremely beneficial to both the Strikers and Goalkeepers to provide game like situations.

The Goalkeepers will work many aspects of their position including both the physical( fast footwork, agility, strength), as well as proper techniques(catching, punching, angle play and decision making.)  Pressure of game like situations to conclude each day.

Strikers will work on all aspects of scoring goals.( First half hour each day the warm up will be solely technical for skills sharpening. )  From the proper technique of striking a Soccer ball with different surfaces, to runs in the box, volleys, headers, and the anticipation of second chances.  Repetition with and w/out pressure will be the philosophy as we prepare the academies curriculum. This type of training environment will help improve each players confidence in front of the goal, which is an important psychological factor to mold the efficient goalscorer.
Each day will end with game situations with goalkeepers in goal.

Defenders will work on both individual, and small group defending.  However, we will also cover the importance of joining the attack, and understanding the timing, and when its appropriate. Defending in the box, and set pieces will be touched upon briefly.

Academy Description:  This 4 day program is solely geared for the young Soccer players technical development.  Each day we will put the priority on maximum touches with the Soccer ball, in a fun, creative environment. It is crucial at this age that all players receive the proper technical training not only during the week of the academy, but also to have the ability to take home with them what they have been taught to go out in the yard and enjoy practicing on their own.  The week will include repetitive training in all areas including dribbling, change of pace, direction, receiving balls on ground, out of air, and the importance of first touch. Passing and striking the Soccer ball with the proper surface of the foot, and proper starting and finishing position.  We will conclude each day with small sided/micro soccer games.
